Our Mission.

15% of people living in BC or almost 755,000 are low income families. In our own community 1/11 families live in extreme poverty. Devastatingly, 14% of children in Victoria live in poverty. Our foundation aims to help alleviate this struggle by recovering surplus produce from local farms and ensuring it reaches families who are struggling to put food on the table. At the Food Recovery Alliance, we bridge the gap between surplus farm produce and communities in need. Our mission is to combat food waste by empowering farmers, ensuring that fresh, healthy food reaches those who need it most. We believe no food should go to waste, and every person deserves access to the nourishment needed to thrive. Together, we support sustainable farming and build stronger, hunger-free communities.
